Catalysts

Industrial catalysts are often produced as oxides that may need activation before use. The principal catalytic components are intimately mixed with other components, usually by co-precipitation or impregnation from solution, the finished catalyst can be in different shapes and forms according to the process technology, like fixed bed or fluid bed, we can see them produced as spheres, extrudates, pellets, granules, rings, micro-spheres etc.

Since 1945, when oil began to replace coal as the most important industrial raw material, the industrial catalysts play such an important part in everyday life. The use of catalytic processes simply increased with the demand for new products and gradual improvements in engineering technology. Now the industrial and people’s normal life can not run without fuel oil, all kinds of the downstream materials like plastics, the consumption grows fastly while the increasing of the big population and new economic rising.

Chempack offers a wide range of the industrial catalyst from oil refinery, petrochemicals, gas processing, coal chemical to other basic chemicals industries based on the research and manufactirng technology in China, like the catalyst for hydrotreating, reforming, isomerization, FCC, hydrogen production, methanol sythnesis, sulfur recovery, sulfuric acid etc. All these products are commerical used widely to drive the large chemical market of China.

Remarkable Category Advantages

Chempack’s portfolio of catalysts covers an extensive range of applications focused on the refining, petrochemical, gas, coal chemical industries from hydrogenation, hydrotreating, isomerization, reforming, syngas, sulfur recovery and specialty catalysts. We also provide catalysts for biofuels production emission control like VOC, NOx removal.

The world’s fuel energy consumption is growing quickly due to the fast economy developing and world’s population growth, to enhance the people’s life quality, more and more chemical products like fuel oil, gas, petrochemical products like plastics needed, to enhance the quality of these chemical products, the engineers have to develop new process technologies and related chemical catalyst to process heavier crude oils with envrionmental friendly considerations. For catalysts, the higher activities, seliectivities, stability and yield required. Chempack is on going to develop more innovative products.

  • Higher Activity

Catalyst activity may be regarded practically as the rate at which the reaction proceeds on the catalyst volume charged to a reactor. The turnover number, or frequency, is the number of molecules of product produced by each active site per unit time under standard conditions. Chempack cooperated with several famous stated R&D centers to develop catalysts with higher activity from catalyst materials sieving, pilot test, enlarged industrial test to commercial applications.

  • Higher Selectivity & Yield

The conversion of reactants to products and by-products during a chemical process is easily determined from the mass balance. The selectivity of a reaction is defifined as the proportion of useful product obtained from the amount feedstock converted. Many processes operate at less than 100% conversion to limit heat evolution, to achieve higher selectivity, an important advantage of using catalysts for any reaction is that the milder operating conditions give better selectivity. Chempack is on going to developing catalyst with higher selectivity and yield with consideraton base on the economica operation.

  • Higher phsycical strength & Stability

Plant operation will be adversely affected as pressure drop increases through the catalyst bed due to some reasons like dust formed from catalyst disintegration during changing and operation, entrained liquid cementing the catalyst, entrained solids blocking the bed, collapsed beds following mechanical damage to bed supports, carbon formation from organic feedstocks, also it is normal for catalysts to lose some activity and selectivity over their operational lifetime before the final replacement when the catalyst is overheated and surface area decreases, a volatile component is lost at high operating temperature, poisons in the feed deactivate the catalyst, or the catalyst is overheated and active sites coalesce. Chempack is on going to develop our catalyst product with higher strength and stability.
